The Watershed Ecohydrology Lab at the University of Pittsburgh is recruiting one or more PhD students who are interested in field-based approaches to understand how changes in climate impact forested landscapes.
Applicants should hold a B.S. or M.S. in Ecology, Geography, Geosciences, Engineering, Oceanography, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Strong applicants will have a strong interest in interdisciplinary science and combining multiple tools to address research questions related to but not limited to:
1) Forest management and watershed hydrology
2) Tree physiology and drought responses
3) Linking hillslope hydrology to streamflow dynamics
4) Landscape evolution and carbon cycling
Preferred qualifications include one or more of the following:
1) Fieldwork experience
2) GIS, remote sensing, or geospatial data analysis
3) Programming experience in Python, MATLAB, R, or related languages
