A significant challenge for new graduates is the transition from academic environments to the diverse demands of sectors such as industry, government, and academia. This seminar seeks to address these challenges by identifying the crucial gaps that students face as they transition from academic institutions to professional environments in various sectors. This seminar brings together seasoned professionals from industry, government, and academia to discuss the challenges new graduates face when entering the workforce. Panelists will reflect on their organizations' experiences with early career researchers/scientists/professionals, highlight prevalent skill gaps observed during hiring, and provide strategic advice for bridging these gaps. Participants will gain insights into aligning their academic training with practical workplace requirements, thereby enhancing their preparedness for a successful career transition.
