Drone Laser Scanning for Modeling Riverscape Topography and Vegetation: Comparison with Traditional Aerial Lidar

This is a direct result of a collaboration developed through an Instrumentation Discovery Travel Grant. The paper demonstrates the benefits of Drone Laser Scanning versus Aerial Laser Scanning for surveying the channel profile and detecting small vegetation on the floodplain in Stroubles Creek (Blacksburg, VA).
