Sensor Management Best Practices
2014 Virtual Workshop Cyberseminar Series
- Corinna Gries / University of Wisconsin
- Don Henshaw / U.S. Forest Service
A working group of practitioners experienced in the entire life cycle of streaming sensor data (sensor network establishment, data transmission, data storage, quality control and assurance, and data access) is developing a best practices guide for managing sensor networks and data. The guide builds on the collective experience of working group members as well as earlier workshops where six topics had emerged. We will give a brief overview of each of the topics. The working group intends to release preliminary findings on the Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP) Federation wiki page and hopes to involve the broader community in ongoing forums and in adding new materials such as sensor network use cases and resource links.
CUAHSI's 2014 Virtual Workshop on Field Data Management Solutions!
The CUAHSI Water Data Center, the LTER Network Office, and the Critical Zone Observatory National Office are jointly sponsoring a Virtual Workshop entitled "Field Data Management Solutions" to share tools, techniques, and tricks for handling the ever increasing volumes of data that observatories and other field sites are generating.
A series of webinars will be held during September and October 2014 featuring speakers from LTER sites, the CZO data project, and CUAHSI Water Data Center to share their experiences with data management and to share tools that have been developed.
