Graduate Programs at University of South Florida

Located in the beautiful coastal city of Tampa, our department has approximately 200 graduate students, about 80 who are working on a doctoral degree. The department offers a doctoral degree as well as a thesis and non-thesis options at the master's level including a Water Resources Concentration. The department currently has four faculty members in Water Resources (Mauriciao Arias, Mahmood Nachabe, Mark Ross, and Andres Tejada-Martinez), whose expertise include ecohydrology, watershed hydrology, urban hydrology, stochastic hydrology, water quality modeling, integrated surface-subsurface modeling, coastal hydrological processes, computation fluid dynamics, among others. A major strength of our water resources program is the collaboration environment at USF, which includes ongoing research with environmental engineering, biology and anthropology faculty, as well as the USF Water Institute.
