Graduate Programs at Northwestern University

Northwestern University offers graduate degrees involving water and aquatic systems research through the Robert R. McCormick School of Engineering and the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) offers MS and PhD degrees in Environmental Engineering and Science. The goals of the program are to promote sustainable communities where critical activities are ecologically sound, socially just, and economically viable now and far into the future. The Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences is a Ph.D. program with opportunities for scholarship in many research areas including hydrology, sedimentary and isotope geochemistry, radiogenic isotope geochemistry, and sedimentology/stratigraphy. The Graduate Program in Plant Biology and Conservation is a collaboration between Northwestern University and the Chicago Botanic Garden. Students take courses and conduct research with faculty and scientists from both institutions. The M.S. and Ph.D. Program focuses on plant biology, ecology, and conservation.
