Finding Water Data with CUAHSI-HIS

See a video where HydroDesktop is used to describe the hydrology of Jacob's Well Spring. Texas. Tim Whiteaker, Research Associate at The University of Texas at Austin, narrates a 16 minute video that describes CUAHSI-HIS. Tim demonstrates the use of HydroDesktop to access, download, and analyze discharge and temperature time series data for the Jacob's Well Spring area. The video is available for viewing at

CUAHSI Fall 2010 Cyberseminars Wrap-up

The Fall cyberseminar was a great success. Attendance at all the webinars was impressive and the presentations were well received and thought-provoking--judging by the oft-times extended Q&A sessions following the slide shows. We are already gearing up for the Spring 2011 semester of seminars. Further information will be forthcoming in future newsletters.

Fall semester cyberseminars you might want to view again or, if you missed them, for the first time:

  • John Pomeroy (University of Saskatchewan) on September 17th entitled Advancing hydrological processes to better predict hydrology in cold regions is available at http://cuahsi.acrobat.com/p94957652/.
  • Mark Green (Plymouth State University) on October 1st entitled Extracting characteristic hydrologic patterns from many catchments: the case of stream water total nitrogen to total phosphorus ratios is available at http://cuahsi.acrobat.com/p87488634/.
  • Rich Vogel (Tufts University) on November 5th entitled Hydromorphology: The Shape of our Water Future is available at http://cuahsi.acrobat.com/p44145995/.
  • Thorsten Wagener (Penn State University) on November 12th entitled Hydrologic Similarity and the Search for a Catchment Classification Framework is available at http://cuahsi.acrobat.com/p51185969/.

Listings for all cyberseminars is available at http://www.cuahsi.org/sem-current.html.
