Hydrologic Measurement Facility (HMF) Equipment Survey 2008 |
|
The CUAHSI Hydrologic Measurement Facility (HMF) has been working for the hydrologic community for the past three years, and wants to hear your feedback and ideas. We will use this survey to direct the specific efforts that we will promote in the coming 5 yearsa period when we expect to see significant growth and maturation in the HMF.
As you fill out this survey please be thinking: "How can I make sure that the HMF is going to help me do better research?" This would suggest that your written comments may be more important that your check-box answers if you have specific needs. [Access & Take the Survey]

NCALM's Lidar Mapping of the June Iowa Flooding - "As Is" Data Available |
|
In June of 2008 large floods occurred in Eastern Iowa and significantly impacted the region. Soon after the flood wave peak passed by Iowa City, the home of the University of Iowa, the National Center for Airborn LiDAR Mapping (NCALM) surveyed the Iowa River corridor extending from the Coralville Reservoir to Columbus Junction, Iowa, near the confluence of the Iowa River and the Mississippi River. NCALM’s crew also collected lidar data over the 250 km2 Clear Creek experimental basin that extends west of Iowa City. Since these data sets generated considerable interest within the hydrologic research community, the University of Iowa is making them available in an "as is" form. For more information, please see flood2008.iihr.uiowa.edu/.
