Introducing the New CUAHSI Monthly eNews Brief |
|
Welcome to the new CUAHSI monthly eNews Brief. In keeping with our mission statement which says, in part, that CUAHSI's goal is "Enhancing the visibility, appreciation, understanding, and utility of hydrologic science through programs of education, outreach, and technology transfer" we have developed this monthly communications vehicle as a means of regularly and briefly keeping youthe hydrologic communityinformed of current happenings in the field of hydrologic science. We intend this communication to be a monthly e-mailing comprising two brief summary articleswith links to more extensive coverageas well as timely reminders of community-related workshops, symposia, or any other noteworthy events.
We do not intend the eNews Brief to be a substitute for the CUASHI Web site (www.cuahsi.org), but rather an information adjunct to the main Web page and its associated sub-pages and -sites. Given the available space in the Brief, there is room for only the most imminent events. Be sure to check the Web page for a more complete listing.

CUAHSI Science Plan Released |
CUAHSI is pleased to announce the release of the CUAHSI Science Plan, entitled Hydrology of a Dynamic Earth: A Decadal Research Plan for Hydrologic Science for your review and comment. This report is the culmination of many months of effort by the Science Advisory Team, led by John Wilson and assisted by Kevin Dressler.
Comments are due by May 15 if we are to consider them in the final version of the science plan. Although we welcome your comments on any aspect of the plan, we ask you to focus on Section 3, the implementation plan. Are these the activities of highest priority for our community during the coming decade? What else should be added? What is your opinion of the proposed phases and staging of these efforts? Please send us your thoughts and ideas. This implementation plan forms the basis for the CUAHSI renewal grant that must be submitted by August, 2007. [visit the CUAHSI Science Plan Web page]
